Eric Stewart is a 2008 MIF with a 5'8'', 140 lb. frame from Henderson, NV who attends Green Valley. Stewart has a small frame with a lean wirey body type. He has an athletic build and with good life in his body. Defensively, Stewart moves to the baseball well defensively and has good feet. He has solid actions with a clean release. He gets some carry on his throws across the diamond and throws with a quick arm action. At the plate, Stewart starts with a slightly open stance and uses a hands back load to start his swing. He looks to keep his hands inside the baseball but can get long at times. Stewart maintains nice balance through contact and generates bat speed. Stewart pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short quick arm action. He pitches with effort and gets good coil at balance point. Stewart gets some extension out front and he throws a hard 11/5 curveball for his offspeed pitch. He is a reliever type pitcher and could come on as he gets stronger. Stewart is a good student.
