Clay Ross is a 2018 SS/IF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Moon Valley HS. Has a long and lean build, plenty of room to fill out as he matures physically and puts on additional muscle. Posted a 7.60 60-yard dash. From the infield, starts in his position from a wide base. Has deliberate actions while fielding the ball out in front. Developing arm strength and carry on throws with short arm action. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base, lower hand set, and high back elbow. Keeps hands inside the baseball on a line drive swing plane. Full swing on the baseball with repeatable mechanics, weight shift gets weight on front side. Has an opposite field approach with good barrel control and solid extension through the baseball. Excellent student.
