Mekhail Poirier is a 2017 RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Burnaby, BC who attends Burnaby Central Secondary. Nice athletic build, has some present strength and projects well physically. Works out of the stretch and stays on line, medium leg lift, high 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm action in back, slow paced delivery. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight with occasional glove side cutting action. Soft upper 60's curveball. Will have to learn to repeat his mechanics more consistently for better command. Right handed hitter, long and strong swing approach, looking to pull and lift from a deep hand load, tends to fly open early on his front side.
