Hunter Murphy is a 2019 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 168 lb. frame from Sandy, OR who attends Sandy HS. Medium, athletic frame with lean present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.28 seconds. Leans into swing when hitting, active hands back into load, shows good ability to shift weight forward into swing, hands work well into swing as well. Showed good ability to square the ball up to the pull field, will continue to develop more power. Balanced fielding position in the infield, fields cleanly and shows good footwork throughout actions, made every play and had consistency throughout, threw 69 MPH across the infield. Pitched as well, shorter arm stroke to three quarters arm slot, arm is quick and projects well, fastball worked 72-74 MPH with short arm side run. Showed 12/6 curveball with very good depth; good secondary pitch for him. Excellent student.
