Tyler Huston is a 2018 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Norcross, GA who attends Norcross High School. Large build and frame, broad shoulders, compact lower half, and present strength throughout. Posted a 7.70 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary first basemen, showed soft hands in drills with a very accurate arm across the diamond. Very clean overall defensive actions and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. At the plate, started with an upright stance, slightly open base, high back elbow, and a simple leg lift timing mechanism. Pull side approach at the plate with a naturally lofted swing plane. Developing bat speed at present with limited torque from lower half. Also pitched, started with a wide base from the third base side of the rubber, short, compact arm action, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Fastball showed short sink at 66-69 mph with best command to arm side. Curveball thrown with good depth and 1/7 shape. Maintained arm speed and slot for curveball well. Commanded the ball well to both sides and pitched with confidence. Good student.
