Johnny (LJ) Estrada is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-9 225 lb. frame from Newnan, GA who attends East Coweta. Extra large frame. Ran an 8.01 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, deliberate actions out of his crouch, compact arm action at take back with developing arm strength down to second, 2.18 second best pop time in drills. Secondary corner infielder, low effort actions, good hands out in front bending at the waist at gather, accurate across the diamond topped out at 71 from first and 70 from the infield, showcased good footwork around the first base bag in drills. Right-handed hitter, sets up at the plate with a narrow and open stance, upper half dominant swing with present wrist strength, gets the hands going well and has strength at impact, young bat speed but the strength plays, flashed pull side pop in his round, could be a legitimate power hitter with proper refinement to his lower half mechanics. Good student.
