Nick Melillo is a 2018 OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Schenectady, NY who attends Christian Brothers Academy. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and sports present strength to frame, has additional room to fill out. Ran a 5.08 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, quick transfer and release, takes short steps moving towards the ball, tight and compact arm action with release from the ear, short crow hop to gain momentum, projects with additional lower half incorporated into release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and gets closed prior to contact. Balanced swing and weight shift, implements physical strength well and shows ability to elevate and drive the ball when getting the bat head out front, creates nice bat speed through the zone. Very good student.
