Gavin Roberts is a 2020 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Chaparral HS. Medium and lean frame with plenty of room to continue to fill out physically. Ran a 7.37 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the baseball cleanly rounding it off well, showcased good arm strength and the ability to throw from multiple arm angles with accuracy, topped out at 86 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, up tempo delivery with athleticism throughout delivery, compact arm stroke with some quickness as well, releases from a high 3/4 arm slot, fastball is mostly straight and flashed some cutting action at times topping out at 83 mph, mixed in a good curveball with 11-to-5 shape and feel for the offering. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a slightly open stance, bat wraps at load, some barrel whip at times and projects well at the plate, young bat speed that will continue to improve as he gets stronger, consistently well timed and nice overall tools to work with at the plate. Good student. Named to 2018 Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Northern Colorado.
