Idair Garcia is a 2019 C/1B, 3B with a 5-9 195 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends City Of Hialeah Education Academy. Medium overall frame with present strength and physicality currently on the build. Primary catcher who stays low and has soft hands. Quick release from the ear and gains ground well upon release. Made accurate throws down to the bag and throws had carry on them. Also graded out well at first base. Showed quick feet with a smooth glove and clean exchanges. Threw from a three-quarter arm slot and made accurate throws. Hands work very well. Righthanded hitter with a wide base and an open stance. Showed good bat speed and has a slight hitch in the back for timing purposes. Power approach who gets his hands in a good launch position. Can create carry on fly balls and has very good leverage throughout the path. Transfers his weight well through a linear lower half shift. Good present power to all fields. Named to the 2017 Florida Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
