Matt Salzano is a 2017 OF with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Towaco, NJ who attends Don Bosco Prep. Medium, athletic build with a strong, physical build and strength throughout frame. Solid runner, posted a 6.91 60-yard dash and showed a quick first step out of the batter's box. Primary outfielder, throws from a short arm action with a tight and compact release, collects well behind the ball, works from an over the top arm slot and gets on top of throws well. Right-handed hitter, shows an upper body swing while staying balanced throughout. Uses hands well in swing, line drive swing plane with nice line drive contact to pull side, loud contact off the barrel with feel to go to the opposite field. Occasionally opens front side early, creates bat speed coming through the zone. Good student.
