Austin McNeill is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Mobile, AL who attends Spanish Fort. Large frame with slender, athletic present build and lots of projection remaining on frame. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.95 seconds. Sets up to hit from open, spread-out stance, high back elbow set, line drive swing plane with big stride forward. Rotational swing with torso torque, solid bat speed, projects to drive the ball better with increased physical strength. Worked out defensively behind the plate, wide set when receiving, tall throw down mechanics throughout, long stride forward and gains ground well, mostly accurate to the bag with pop times as low as 2.12 seconds. Pitched as well, deliberate-paced windup, throws from 3/4 arm slot with good angle to the plate, fastball worked 79-81 MPH with solid life to the arm side. Likes to elevate FB's late in counts. Shows solid curveball with 10/4 shape and good depth; solid spin to pitch. Did a good job throwing strikes.
