2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Jordan Henricks is a 6'2" infielder from Manhattan, KS, with projectable strength and very polished present baseball skills. He was one of the most advanced hitters at the showcase and will improve as he adds even more upper body strength. Henricks hits out of a wide stance with a limited load and stride, and stays behind the ball through contact. Henricks smoked a couple of doubles during the showcase games to show his power potential and pretty much made solid contact every time he swung the bat in BP and games. Defensively, Henricks looks like a solid and steady infielder who isn’t going to make many mistakes. His arm strength and hands are playable at the high levels and he has smooth actions through the ball. Henricks also pitched a couple of innings, touching 81 mph with his fastball with a pretty good 69 mph curveball that helped him strike out four hitters. He runs fairly well and shows excellent athletic instincts. Jordan is an excellent student.
