Luis Morales is a 2020 OF/3B, RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Gurabo, PR who attends BYOU Academy. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.01 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with loose, athletic footwork while moving to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange with a loose arm circle. Released from a three-quarters slot generating accurate, on line carry to the bag at 85 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and reaching front side trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Direct hand path to baseball with a naturally lifted barrel plane. Displayed quick hands through the zone with present bat speed. Looked to swing with intent and drive the baseball with authority to the middle of the field. When squared, ball jumped off the barrel well with good carry to the gaps. Also pitched showing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with tall and fall actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball jumped out of hand well flashing heavy downhill plane, topped at 80 miles per hour. Sliders displayed tight spin with sharper 10/4 sweep to glove side. Good student.
