Ka'ale Haili is a 2020 C/2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Kula, HI who attends Punahou HS. Young, projectable build with square shoulders and a lean, loose frame with room for additional strength moving forward. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, gains some ground with lower half coming out of the crouch, full arm action, on top of throws and showed accuracy down to second base from a lower release point, arm strength will continue to develop with added physicality. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a medium hand set and a lower back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing, utilizes a contact approach at the plate with a full swing path through the zone. Gets the barrel to the ball, linear swing path, works the middle and pull side parts of the field with contact. Excellent student.
