Antonio Milazzo is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Shorewood, IL who attends Minooka Community. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.25 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with deliberate footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front with two hands while showing good fluidity through transfer. Gets baseball out quickly with a compact arm action, topped at 72 mph. Throws generated occasional carry across the infield with accuracy to the bag. Right handed hitter with a balanced, straight stance and simple leg lift trigger. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions creating some shift. Hands launch on a loose, extended path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension. Primarily used a mid-field approach, but showed the ability to turn barrel head to contact and work to the pull side gap when attacking baseball out front. Repeats swing mechanics well while staying very balanced through finish. Flashed good plate coverage and willingness to hit the baseball to the opposite field during games. Outstanding student as well.
