Ramón Vega Jr. is a 2017 3B/ with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Buffalo, MN who attends Buffalo High School. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.19 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman with smooth, fundamental footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with smooth paced, extended exchanges while working through transfer. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 79 mph across the infield. Throws produces some on line carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a balanced, straight stance and high back elbow set. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions generating some shift. Hands launch on a compact, level path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension. Swings with intent to drive the baseball into the gaps. Flashed solid extension through contact when working to the opposite field gaps showing good jump off the barrel as well. Good student as well.
