The #2 ranked SS in California for the 2024 class, Bates brought out the power stick at the Boras North swatting two home runs including a no doubter to the pull side in day 2 action. Committed to Stanford, the PG All American didn’t get tested often at shortstop in the two game of looks I got, but he’s one of the most advanced defenders in the state, if not the country, showing excellent body control, soft hands and enough arm to stay at short.

12 K's over 6 1/3 innings of work for Bakersfield Christian LHP Mason Brassfield. FB worked 89-92, SL 79-83 and CH 85/86. Multiple K's with all offerings including 2 on the CH. FB/S
