Drew Cross is a 2027 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Mount Pleasant, TX who attends Mount Pleasant. A sturdy build with a medium frame and strength throughout. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked well out of the crouch. He was quick with the feet, starting with a side-saddle, using athleticism to pop out quickly, transferring with speed to get the ball out. Compact arm action with a higher release and smooth throws. Threw 77 mph down to second with a 1.94 pop time. Also worked out as an infielder with clean actions moving well laterally, showing athleticism with the footwork. Had a clean arm across with good carry to the bag. Threw 86 mph across the diamond with fundamental actions during his round of defensive work. A right-handed hitter with a narrow stance, higher set hands, and a higher back elbow. He uses a small stride forward. He had a level swing with a good feel to create some leverage, being able to launch the ball during BP. Developing bat speed with some strength off it. Added a double in-game as well. Produced an 85 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. A right-handed pitcher with a medium leg lift working out of the wind-up from the first base side of it. He had a standard three-quarters arm slot with a shorter arm action. He stays pretty closed on that first base side, opening late to create some deception to the delivery. The fastball was up to 81 mph and comes out well. He paired it with an 11-5 shaped breaking ball in the low-60s. Healthy shape to the breaker, commanding it well. Named to a 2023 HS All-State Championships TP List.
