2023 High School All State Select Championship (2026-2027 Grads)
Matthew Manis is a 2026 LHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial. A taller and bigger frame with a more lean build. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. The primary left-handed pitcher took the mound, using a smaller gather step into a leg lift above the belt. He had a longer arm circle through the back while using a higher three-quarters arm slot. He used a slide-step with runners on to control the run game as needed. He was a strike-thrower. He showed the fastball working 84-88 mph, showing tons of arm-side life to it. He worked glove side well and worked east-west overall with a good feel for the breaker. The breaker was 1-7 with good depth and healthy shape. He repeats well and tunnels things. He threw 4.0 innings, allowing 1 walk, and added 5 strikeouts without allowing a hit. He's a left-handed hitter with a bigger frame, swinging with intent. He had a balanced base, starting slightly open. He had a small toe lift with a good stride for timing. Transfers the weight well and rotates hard at the top of the zone, impacting the ball hard. Great feel for the barrel. Added a base knock in-game as well. Also worked out as an outfielder with quality actions during his round of defensive work. He was athletic with easy arm strength from the outfield up to 85 mph. He had a loose, easy arm stroke with an uphill path through it. He fields it smoothly and comes through it nicely. He worked out as an infielder as well. Taller and athletic on the infield with average actions. Clean round. Good student. Named to the HS All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
