Gavin Lykins is a 2026 RHP/1B with a 6-3 179 lb. frame from Plainfield, IN who attends Plainfield. Long and projectable young pitcher's build. Works from the stretch with a long arm takeaway in back, high 3/4's arm slot, front side comes off early at times in his delivery, pretty well controlled delivery until close to his release. Fastball worked in the upper 70's and topped out at 81 mph, gets some arm side life when he can get it to that side. Throws a short breaking slurve-type breaking ball as his off-speed pitch. 7.52 runner in the sixty. Plays first base when not on the mound. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced stance with a rotational upper body swing, tends to get soft on his front side and dive under balls. Shows lots of promise on the mound for a big bodied freshman. Good student. Named to the Indianapolis Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
