Antonio Barrafato is a 2020 RHP/C, 1B with a 6-2 250 lb. frame from Montreal, QC who attends Loyola. Extra-large, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, low effort delivery and repeats mechanics well, works with a compact arm action through the back up to a high three-quarters release point. Long stride down the mound, can incorporate additional lower half into drive; fastball topped out at 80 mph, mostly true in life and filled the zone to either side of the plate. Worked off of fastball and pitched to contact, flashed a curveball at 65 mph with some depth and showed comfort landing it. Higher set behind plate in drills, receives the ball out front, upper body dominant release and can use additional lower half into release, compact arm action, gains ground, true throws with accuracy to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; upper body dominant swing with limited shift through lower half. Stays direct to the ball with hands and has a long finish through the point of contact, looks to lift at point of contact. Occasionally gets to front side early, shows best strength to pull side. Good student.
