Zach Snyder is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Watervliet, NY who attends Shaker HS. Large frame with long limbs, broad shoulders and present strength. Frame projects to support for additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher a wide side step delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with tall and fall lower half actions. Front side lands in line with the plate and tends to spin off foot to glove hand side at times. Medium arm circle straight back at separation and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some life through the zone with occasional running action to arm side, topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with softer rotation and good depth when located down in the zone. Also flashed a slider with 9/4 shape that had tight rotation and sharper sweep. Shows very good feel for off speed pitches and maintains arm speed through finish. Shows the ability and willingness to double up with off speed and consistently keep hitters off balance. Developing command for each edge of the plate with the ability to located to outer edge when repeating mechanics and arm action. Also worked out defensively form the infield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Works through transfer cleanly to a taller throwing position, primarily released from low three-quarters arm slot topping at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance. Stacks back side at load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Swings with intent on a naturally lifted swing plane through extension. Primarily looked to lift the baseball between the gaps and flashed solid jump off the barrel with carry when on time and squared. Flashed occasional bat speed through the hitting zone that will continue to develop with physical maturity. Very good student as well.
