Lucas Sossei is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 236 lb. frame from Sprakers, NY who attends Canajoharie Senior High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a side step moving in, high leg lift up past belt with a slight hip turn, full hand path up break. Shows nice tempo throughout delivery with an aggressive approach on the mound. High lead arm coming to the plate, drive swell with lower half and lands slightly closed with front foot. Full arm action through the back and works to an over the top slot, does a nice job of generating downhill plane to fastball, gets on hitters quickly and topped out at 82 mph. Worked off of his fastball, maintains arm slot well on slider, showed 11-5 shape to the pitch. Tight rotation, likes to throw when ahead in the count, late break down in the zone. Very good student.
