Michael Lavengco is a 2017 2B/SS, 3B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Driftwood, TX who attends Dripping Springs High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, short footwork moving towards the ball, fields out front and funnels into a longer gather, quick and compact arm action with an extra step moving into release, ball comes out clean, arm strength and overall actions will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base, slightly open stance and a high back elbow in the box. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing and gets closed moving into contact, short swing path coming through the zone and keeps hands in throughout. Coil at top of leg lift occasionally throws off timing but when balanced shows a smooth path with the ability to create lift out front. Repeats swing path well, projects with physical strength. Good student.
