Andrew Rodriguez is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-4 255 lb. frame from Midlothian, IL. Extra-large, well-built frame with very good size and strength throughout body. Hits from wide-based stance, way open with front hip, longer swing path but with serious strength in swing. Swings uphill with serious intent to hit the ball into the air with authority. Swings the bat hard consistently. When square contact is made, the ball comes off the bat with big time power. Can drive the ball deep to all fields and has home run power when on time with swing. Showed well defensively at 1st base. Fields out front with clean hand actions, shows good feet and overall footwork moving to the ball. Shows necessary agility to make the pivot on throws to 2nd base and 3rd base, consistently accurate from extended three quarters. Velocity from 1B clocked up to 74 MPH. Named to 2016 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
