Haruto Nakano is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 5-8 168 lb. frame from Chigasaki, KN who attends Yokohama Shogyo HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.25 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows compact actions while closing to the baseball and working through transition. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball and working into throws. Baseball came out of hand cleanly with good carry to the bag, topped at 82 mph. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing fundamentally sound footwork while surrounding the baseball. Charges the baseball well and works through transfer cleanly. Stays down on the baseball well while funneling the baseball out front with clean glove actions. Topped at 72 mph across the infield with some carry to the bag. Left handed hitter with a balanced stance and high leg lift trigger. Flashed some hand quickness to contact primarily driving the baseball to the pull side gap. Barrel path becomes extended at times, but was able to consistent square up contact throughout batting practice. While on the mound, flashed three different arm slot that provided varying running action. Primarily released from a high three-quarters slot that produces some downward angle to the plate. Fastball topped at 80 mph. Curveball has tight spin with good depth down in the zone. Also mixed in a slider and changeup with deceptive arm speed. Was very deceptive on the mound while effectively change speeds and keeping hitters off balance.
