Taiyo Konishi is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Urayasu, CH who attends Chiba Shokadai Fuzoku HS. Konishi has a lean build with room to fill out. Works from stretch only, leg lift to waist with slight pause at balance point. Kicks out leg and sits onto back leg. Good drive down hill with an online delivery. Compact arm action with a 3/4 release point. Commanded three pitches and showed a fourth that is developing. Fastball had arm side run when working arm side and mostly straight when glove side. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good depth, would throw it at two different speeds and sharpness, had feel for it. Slider was more 10/4 and consistently harder with tight spin. Change up had good sink and run with depth. Had feel for both CB and Ch, slider is developing.
