2023 Class of 2026 All-American Games
Joshua Viars is a 2026 SS/RHP/C with a 5-11 182 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Walnut Grove High School. Medium athletic build, looks taller than listed, lots of projection remaining. Primary shortstop on defense, has nice athletic actions, works through the ball very well and can really throw on the move, presents the glove early and fields the ball cleanly, all the tools to excel in the middle infield. Also caught and shows his athleticism and arm strength well, still developing his fundamentals especially in his lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance, gets into his hips well, has a looping inside swing with a high finish, puts the ball in the air with some lift, has offensive upside with some adjustments. Also pitched and has two-way potential. Has a simple delivery and a high 3/4's arm slot, long and loose arm action, low effort release. Fastball topped out at 89 mph with occasional big sink and run. Has some feel for landing his curveball as well. Very good student. Named to the Class of 2026 All American Games Top Prospect List.
