Mid-Atlantic Scout Notes Roundup

John McAdams      AJ Denny      Anthony Gambardella
Brandon Maldonado (2028, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) was on the barrel all weekend long, leading 5 Star National to a championship victory and earning Most Valuable Player honors in the process. The 5-foot-8 right-handed batter went 8-for-16 with a triple and 4 RBI over a five-game span. He recorded a hit in each game and struck out just once in 17 plate appearances. Maldonado has one of the more consistent bats in the 2028 class and showcased that this past weekend down in Virginia. He has the ability to manipulate the barrel in and around the strike zone while adjusting to spin pretty easily. After batting above .500 in PG events in each of the last two calendar years, Maldanado looks to put up big numbers once again in 2024.
