David Peterson is a 2008 C/1B/3B with a 6'1'', 195 lb. frame from Villa Park, CA who attends Servite HS. He has a strong, pro style type of body with good body life and quickness. Peterson threw 73 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.00, but he was consistently in the 1.9's between innings and solid with his throws during games. He has good feet behind the plate and strong hands receiving the ball. Offensively, Peterson has an advanced hitting approach fundamentally. He stays strong and quiet and stays down and through the ball well and hits it hard up the middle and to right field. He doesn't have pure bat speed but uses his hand strength well and stays short to the ball. Peterson is a 7.15 runner. With his combination of strength and skills and position, Peterson could be playing the game for a long time. He is also a very good student.
