Luis Martinez is a 2023 OF/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends South Miami Senior. Strong athletic build. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.87 seconds. Primary outfielder, comes to the ball well fielding it out in front with a quick transition and release. Displayed firm accurate throws with good carry, was clocked up to 92 mph on throws from the outfield. From the mound, throws from an over the top arm slot, the fastball sat 83-85 mph with backwards spin. Still working on the command but has potential to be a good pitch. At the plate, hits from a balanced slightly open stance stance with a high back elbow. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed consistently driving the ball hard on a line to his pull side. Was named to the National Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
