2020 California Workout Camp (Saturday)
Joshua Phillips is a 2021 OF/ with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from San Clemente, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. He showed good speed with a 6.91 second sixty. A primary outfielder with a large long frame with some present strength and room to fill moving forward. In the outfield he showed a deliberate approach to the ball with good athleticism in his actions, the glove works well out front as he carries his momentum from the fielding process well into his throws with decent arm strength on his accurate throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and looks to create leverage through the hitting zone, he does a nice job getting the barrel head out on time with some easy pop from gap to gap and recorded a 90 mph exit velocity, projects for more to come as he continues to add strength moving forward. Very good student.
