2020 California Workout Camp (Saturday)
Paul Murrow is a 2021 OF/RHP, 3B with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Tustin, CA who attends Beckman. Large long and lengthy build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary outfielder, still understanding how to use his long legs. Still showcases solid athleticism into the gap as well as down the line. Very meticulous with his glove work, strong arm to all bags. Was gunned at 85 mph to home plate in the outfield workouts. On the mound, has a short arm action from a high three-quarters to over the top slot. His length helps his fastball up to 85 mph play way up to the hitter. Shows solid command for his fastball. Curveball has a large 11-to-5 shape and is more of a get me over pitch. Slider is the superior pitch with good late break to the plate and more of a low 11-to-5 shape. It showcases the potential to be a true out pitch as he continues to mature on the hill. Also mixes in a 71 mph straight change. In the infield, fields out in front with two hands. Pretty high fielder, arm strength is strong across the diamond. At the plate, uses an upright and conventional stance with a low leg kick trigger. Good pop to all fields when on time. Flat barrel plane through the zone helps him to backspin the baseball with consistency. Middle of the field approach.
