Cougar Cooke is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Show Low, AZ who attends Show Low. Long and lean frame with great physical projection. Ran a 7.04 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with quick feet to the ball, attacks and works through it well with quickness to the release and softness overall while showing feel for changing arm slot when necessary for accurate throws. Also pitched, works a free and easy operation with looseness throughout using a full arm action and good arm speed to fill the zone in the upper-70s while showing feel for a breaking with the shape and spin to project on. Switch-hitter, grades out a bit better from the right side where he shows good bat speed and the ability to get the bat head out consistently with good impact off the barrel. Shows more length in the swing from the left side as he looks to lift and pull the ball that will improve with added overall maturity. Outstanding student.
