Josh Pinnell is a 2024 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Temecula Valley. Strong athletic build. 6.92 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, moves well side to side with short steps, tends to stop to get his feet under him to throw, fields the ball cleanly, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright stance with a small leg raise load, limited lower half shift into contact, upper body rotational swing with a pull side approach, can hit through the ball more consistently, has some leverage when he gets out front and showed the ability to drive the ball with carry in games. Also pitched, has tall and fall mechanics with a short 3/4's arm action, hides the ball well. Fastball worked in the mid-70's and topped out at 77 mph with some cutting action. Also threw a short slider and threw strikes with both pitches. Excellent student.
