Trae Cassidy is a 2023 C/SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Northville, MI who attends Detroit Catholic Central. Compact athletic build with good present strength for a sophomore. Primary catcher on defense but showed very well in the middle infield as well. Receives the ball well behind the plate, has quick feet and compact actions, very quick release, has twitchy athletic actions. Very active feet in the middle infield, worked through the ball well which enabled him to show his arm strength. Made accurate throws from both positions. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a big lower half shift into contact, big barrel wrap creates length in his swing, has good present bat speed and can get some jump to the pull side. Very good overall athlete. Excellent student. Named to the Great Lakes Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
