Austin Puett is a 2021 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Acton, CA who attends West Ranch. Big and strong athletic build. Works out of the stretch on the mound, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot from a quick and long arm action in back, high set with his hands, tends to lose direction and fall off glove side off front. Mid to upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph early, gets both running and cutting action at different times depending on his location in the strike zone. Used a hard short slider as an out pitch that got off barrels well, subtracted from the slider at times for a true curveball. Has arm strength and the ability to spin the ball, key to his further development will be more consistency in his mechanics and release point. Good student. Named to the West Coast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
