Elijah Castaneda is a 2022 OF/RHP, 3B, MIF, UT with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Rio Rancho, NM who attends Rio Rancho. Showed good speed and athleticism, running a 6.88 second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and present athleticism in the build. Takes long strides to the ball in the outfield with consistent glove actions and presents arm strength. Makes strong throws to bases at 86 miles per hour. Secondary third baseman, fields out front and shows good range to the glove side. Has developing accuracy to throws with developing athleticism throughout the fielding process. Right-handed hitter with some strength in the hands, a toe tap load and power potential. Has a naturally lifted barrel plane, looking to lift the ball to the pull-side. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a heavy fastball at 83-89 miles per hour. Topped at 90 and shows developing command of the strike zone, flashing the ability to create some downward plane as well. Doesn't show an off-speed pitch. Good student.
