Jacob Peterson is a 2021 RHP/IF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Sacramento, CA who attends Capital Christian. Primary right-handed pitcher with a large, physical frame and square shoulders. Starts from the windup with a leg lift just past the belt, maintaining good drop and drive actions when working out of the stretch as well. Has a tight and compact arm action through the backside, generating some sinking action to the fastball at 79-81 miles per hour. Mixes speeds well with a tight curveball with 11-5 shape and some depth at 70 miles per hour. Drops the slot some on a low-70s changeup but can mix and match to land for strikes as an effective third pitch. Also worked out in the infield, showcasing active footwork and range, with developing glove actions as well. Makes throws across the diamond at 75 miles per hour. Right-handed hitter with a wide and even stance, showing a hanging leg lift trigger and shifting well to contact. Has a middle of the field approach, with a line drive barrel plane through the zone and developing strength in the hands. Has a smooth path to contact, staying short to the ball.
