Derek Francisco Ruiz Lopez is a 2021 RHP/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Sugar Land, TX who attends Lamar Cons. Larger frame with a lean, wiry build showing some room to fill out down the road. Ran a 7.33 second sixty yard dash. Primary Righthanded Pitcher, working into a side step and lift to a belt high leg lift. Longer arm circle in the back before delivering from a high three-quarter slot. Hides the baseball out of hand as he tunnels it well. Repeatable mechanics with creating easy velocity showing more in the tank. Ran his fastball up to 85 MPH with some arm side run. Also flashed a slider with some late run to it. Mixed in a splitter and a changeup as well that he landed for strikes. Works quickly and went on to fill it up. High ceiling with upside showing on the mound. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
