Alex Valentin is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Hollywood, FL who attends ESB Academy. Strong build, especially in the lower half, pretty mature physically. Side step delivery, will throw in shimmy's and hesitations from the wind up, hides the ball well with a compact arm action and 3/4's arm slot that will get lower at times, some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, mostly straight. Sweeping slider is his go to pitch, lands it well with big angle and sweeping break, will flash some bite at its highest velocities. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
