Michael Whooley is a 2023 SS/2B/3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Wyckoff, NJ who attends Ramapo High School. Large, athletic frame with present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fluid on his approach to the ball with smooth actions overall, athleticism plays, shows ability to change arm slots on throws across diamond, softness to hands out front and shows accuracy on throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Compact swing path thorough the zone and shows quickness to hands, remains direct to the ball and incorporates lower half well. Squared up a couple doubles in live action, shows solid impact strength to his pull side when on time at point of contact. Very good student.
