Ethaniel Almendarez is a 2021 C/1B, 3B with a 5-10 206 lb. frame from Lynn, MA who attends Lynn Classical. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Hits from wide-spread, open-based stance with high back elbow in set, gets front foot down on time, hands lock back into barred load, has bat speed and strength, showed ability to leverage the ball in the air pull side with a good amount of raw power in that direction. Worked out behind the plate, wider set with flex in hips, rising into receiving, lengthy transitions, solid arm strength clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Also pitched, compact takeaway through the back, three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 72-77 mph, threw a lot of strikes, curveball spins on an 11/5 shape with flashes of softer depth.
