Cage McCloud is a 2024 RHP/C, 1B, 3B, OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Robinson, TX who attends Robinson. Large and lean frame with room to fill throughout and time to do so. Ran a 7.24 second 60 yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, starts his delivery with a side step up to a high leg lift, uptempo operation with good arm speed and projectable traits, takes his arm back to a quick and compact arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, lands slightly closed and will locate better to the armside because of it, did show the ability to adjust and pitch to both halves. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with lots of feel for the strike zone, mixes in a developing curveball and straight changeup for strikes as well, high upside young arm. Secondary catcher, sets up behind the plate with a side saddle stance, releases quick getting up and out of his crouch, receives with a strong left wrist, arm strength plays well. Left-handed hitter, open stance and a high back elbow at the plate, takes a leg lift trigger into contact, shows a feel for the barrel with a loose swing path, has a feel for the barrel and shows good jump to the pull side, fluid stroke with projectable tools as he adds strength. Talented two-way prospect.
