Carter Rugg is a 2021 C/2B, OF with a 5-6 162 lb. frame from Norco, CA who attends Eleanor Roosevelt. Medium frame with a stocky type build. Ran a 7.42 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting high in his stance and proved to have soft hands as he received the baseball well. Quick transfer on throw downs as he gained ground as well. Arm strength showing and was accurate around the bag as he recorded a 2.04 second pop time. Fits the catching profile and is fundamentally sound. Secondary Second Baseman, showing clean footwork as he worked smoothly to and through the baseball. Confident with the glove as he scoops it up and then worked into transfers. Extra steps in shuffles then threw it 78 mph across the diamond. Right-Handed Hitter, starting open and balanced as he works into separation. Hands get deep and then flashed an uphill swing path. Strength in hands showing as he knew how to leverage the baseball and drive it for power. Pull-side approach and ran into some loud barrels. Good Student.
