Trey Deitelbaum is a 2022 RHP/3B, SS, OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Milford, CT who attends Joseph A. Foran. Young, square shouldered frame with present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a side step into delivery, gets tall on backside with a leg lift up past belt; strides online down the mound well and shows a compact and quick arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, locates the pitch well to arm side and shows late life when down in the zone. Filled and mixed, curveball shows nice potential with depth to it up to 64 mph and flashed a changeup at 71 mph. Fields the ball out front in the infield, takes short steps moving towards the ball, quick arm action in the back working to an extended slot, gets on top of throws well with carry across diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Does a nice job of staying direct to the ball, shows quickness to hands with looseness too; aggressive in the box and shows a handle for the barrel, occasionally gets onto front side early. Very good student.
