Michael Groover is a 2008 SS/OF with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Lake Worth FL, who attends Cardinal Newman HS. He has a good frame and some present strength and some projectability remaining. Grover is a 7.67/4.83 runner. He projects at third base at the next level, where he'll have good hands and the ability to make plays on the move but his overall speed will take him away from the middle of the field. He'll have to work on his throwing technique and release point to maximize his arm strength. Groover's best tool is his bat. He has a simple load and swing and uses his hands well to hit. Groover made solid line drive contact to all fields and showed good bat speed and hand quickness. He should continue to develop as a hitter as he gets stronger and is a good looking young hitter. Groover is also a very good student.
