Colt Uphold is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Albquerque, NM who attends Rio Rancho. Large physical build with present athleticism. Primary outfielder, fields out in front and stays direct to the baseball. Solid first step reads off the bat with a compact arm action that gets rid of the ball quickly. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a three-quarters to high three-quarters slot. Comes closed at the top of his lift then works down the hill with a low front side. Fastball up to 83 mph lives around the zone and shows an ability to get in onto the hands of hitters. Mixes in an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good depth. At the plate, uses a simple and upright stance with a simple stride trigger. Swing begins backloaded, looks to get his hands out in front of the baseball. Flashes some good pop to his pull side. Flat barrel plane through the zone generates consistent backspin.
