Curtis Petersen is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Aubrey, TX who attends Billy Ryan HS. He has a slender build with narrow shoulders and long limbs. Petersen is a polished pitcher in all regards. His delivery is balanced and smooth and he stays tall and throws downhill. Petersen showed five pitches during his two innings of work and all of them had quality and the promise of more in the future. Petersen's 4-seam fastball was in the upper 80's and touched 90 mph and he didn't lose much velocity while throwing his 2-seamer. He threw both a slider at 78 mph and a curveball at 72 mph and both showed sharpness and late biting action. He also had an 80 mph change up. Petersen has lots of present tools and skills and should continue to get stronger. He could be a real surprise over the next few years. Petersen is also a good student.
