2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Drew Sofield is a 2024 LHP/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Hiawassee, GA who attends Towns County. He ran a 7.92 second sixty. A primary left-handed pitcher with a long lean build showing plenty of room to fill moving forward. On the mound he showed the ability to work the fastball to both halves with a long arm action getting good extension out front and creating some short arm side run on the fastball in the 78-83 mph range and topping out at 84 mph, he showed a slider in the second inning with sweeping bite through the zone. At first base he fields the ball out front with young footwork around the bag, the arm works short through the back to a quicker release getting plenty of carry to the bases. Left-handed hitter, starts balanced with a slightly open stance, he does a nice job getting back to even with his stride, the barrel is quick in and out of the zone as he looks to get the barrel head out and drive the ball to the pull side. Good student. Named to the 2020 National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
